About vinyl siding estimates

Vinyl is the most common siding material in the U.S. because it's affordable and low-maintenance. It's typically sold in panels rather than individual boards, so this tool converts your home's area into an approximate panel count using the exposure width you select — the visible height of each course once installed.

Tips for vinyl siding projects

Vinyl expands and contracts with temperature, so installers intentionally leave small gaps at nail points — this is normal and not a defect. Corner posts, J-channel, and starter strips are sold separately and are not included in this estimate. Always round up to the nearest full box, since most suppliers sell by the box, not by the individual panel.
